I bought two of these lamps for the end tables in my screen room. They are very large (3 ft tall!), but that was ok for the dimensions of my room- it may not be ok in a smaller room. The black finish I got is a rough, very dull matte finish- I would have preferred it a bit more polished looking, but my room is rustic, so they look good. I love the long cords, and how very weatherproof they are. They are also very stable so my 2 yr old, 3 yr old, and 5 yr old play around them all the time, and they have never rocked or fallen over. They are great outdoor lamps, which is not an easy thing to find.
